BTM “Battle In The Capital” Day 1 Review

We attended day one of BTM Basketballs’ “Battle In The Capital” and this is an event not to be missed in the future. Held at University Of East London Sports Dock 12 teams competing in 2 categories battled it out with over 500 spectators in attendance witnessing some of Europe and the UK’s rising young stars.

The under 14 boys category featured teams; FC Barcelona, Apollo Amsterdam, Manchester Magic, Richmond Knights, London Youngblood Lions, Baltic Stars, Sussex Storm and Brentwood Fire who competed over both days.

(Under 14 final four bracket)

The under 16 boys category consisted of 6 UK based basketball teams from prominent clubs. These games were both physical and intense creating thrilling games for spectators. The athletic Barking abbey met with the high IQ Richmond Knights in the final and with several lead changes it was the well coached Richmond Knights who secured victory.

(Under 16 Final Standings)

BTM Basketball Director Tom Ward said “We hope to grow this tournament in coming years and establish it as the premier UK international club tournament, and one of the most attractive in Europe” and after attending Day one we’re convinced that hes on the right path to achieving his aim. #FOOTFIREAPPROVED
